8th grade American History projectThe students in my 8th grade American History class with be creating a Podcast about the life and history of George Washington. They have an option of doing a newscast or an interview. They may work with partners or do the whole project on their own. They have a week to find and add pictures, record their voices, find music and/or sound effects, and then put it all together to make their production. With the new introduction of our laptops at Cardinal, the students have the ability to do all of this project on their own PERSONAL computer!

Following this introduction are the requirements for this project and some ideas for the students to use. Coming up.....websites you can visit to pull pictures, information and sound effects for your projects.

Requirements:
1. Podcast must be no shorter than 5 minutes and no longer than 15 minutes.
2. No more than 3 people in a group.
3. Must contain pictures, sound effects and/or music.
4. You can do a newscast or an interview.

Due Date: January 20th (It has been extended due to the snow day)

Some ideas from the desk of Mrs. Benjamin:

For your interview: you could talk to George about his accomplishments during the Revolutionary War, or his failures during the French and Indian War. What about his presidency? - What was it like being the 1st President of the United States?
- Was it hard not having anyone with experience as the President to help you?

For your newscast: you could be right on the front lines of the French and Indian War, or the Revolutionary War. How about a "press-conference" being held by George Washington himself? Maybe your are crossing the Delaware River right next to George and his men.

Remember if you do a newscast you have to add in your commercials.
